Herbarium data for Guyana, French Guyana and Suriname plus georeferencing information

Great website, which has not only the specimen data, but all specimen collection localities listed with coordinates, so great for georeferencing!

Indian plant species website

The following website has a database of 930 indian plant species that are traded for their medicinal properties, but which are also of conservation concern: http://envis.frlht.org.in/overview.htm

There are a number of new datasets making use of Google Earth/maps on the new King's College Goedata Portal:

Visualising land cover changes in this way could be extremely useful for rapid conservation assessments. In particular check out RALUCIAPA, Conservation-Eye and Terrascope.

Be warned - they were running very slow last time I checked.

BGCI IUCN assessment website

This website searches both the 2006 IUCN database and the 1997 database. Therefore no need to check in the 1997 red list book. Might still want to check the most recent IUCN database as it comes online (i.e. currently is 2007).

good website for searching other institutions herbariums.

allows you to search 28 institutions at once! however, i would use this and the other institutions home pages as they dont seem to match up. This multisearch site showed me 2 specimens at edinburgh which when I searched edinburghs own site didnt show up.
